Who we are

Namibia Anglican Community Development Organization (NACDO), formerly known as the Anglican AIDS Programme (AAP) was founded and launched in 2002 as a part of the Anglican Diocese of Namibia ‘s response to the HIV/AIDS endemic in Namibia. This happened when the then Bishop Shihala Hamupembe recognized that the Anglican Church, like its denominational partners, had a unique opportunity to assist in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

In order to have a true reflection of its work, AAP was renamed to Namibia Anglican Community Development Organization (NACDO) towards the end of 2018, a new name which encompasses all its projects. NACDO is a Welfare Organization registered with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (registration number W.O. 71), registered as an affiliate and associate of the Anglican Diocese of Namibia. NACDO works in partnership with different government ministries, regional and constituency councils, as well as communities in the areas of income generation, food security and malaria elimination. Implementation takes place in the 4 O regions (Ohangwena, Omusati, Oshana and Oshikoto).
